Top Pool Lift Questions and Answers

How much do pool lifts cost?

Pool lift prices vary by manufacturer and model, but you can expect to pay between $3,300 and $11,900, not including labor and tax.

Can I get a pool lift for my above ground pool?

The short answer is yes, you can likely get a pool lift for your above ground pool. However, the necessary equipment varies based on your pool setup.

  • Pools without a deck:
    • Some above ground pools stand alone with just a ladder for entry/exit. For these pools, there are pool lifts that can reach over walls up to 68 inches high. But if you opt for one of these pool lifts, you’ll need a concrete pad that’s at least 3’x3′ and and at least 10 inches thick in order to safely anchor.
  • Pools with a deck:
    • If your pool has a deck, you can usually attach a pool lift to it. There are usually more options for pools with decks because you typically don’t need as much wall clearance. These lifts are typically cheaper than ones that mount to the ground.

Can I get a pool lift for my hot tub or spa?

Yes, this is usually possible. Most pool lifts made for above ground pools will also work for hot tubs and spas.

Are there portable pool lifts?

Yes, there are. Portable pool lifts usually have wheels and a tank filled with sand that acts as a counterweight. The sand is added after the lift is delivered and in place on your pool deck.

What is the weight capacity of a pool lift?

Pool lifts can hold anywhere from 300 lbs to 600 lbs, depending on the model.

Are pool lifts manual or powered?

It depends. Some pool lifts are powered by batteries, while others need to be manually operated.

Do powered pool lifts run on battery or do they plug in?

Powered pool lifts run on battery. Most manufacturers recommend disconnecting and charging the battery daily to ensure it’s always ready when you need it.
