The pool lift question we get asked the most is “how much do they cost?” It’s a simple question, but the answer isn’t so cut-and-dry. Nonetheless, we’ll do our best to break it all down.
Pool lift cost is broken down into several parts: the cost of the unit itself, the cost of the anchoring system, and labor. (There could be a category here for options and accessories, but we’re trying to keep this simple.)
The Cost of the Pool Lift Unit
The cost of the pool lift unit varies depending on the make and model you choose. This will be narrowed down by whether your pool is in-ground or above-ground.
In-ground pool lift units range in price from $3,300 to $12,000 depending on the model you choose. Above-ground pool lifts will range from $5,000 to $11,000, depending on the model.
The Cost of the Anchoring System
Before we discuss the cost of the anchoring system, it’s important to know that there are different types of anchors, depending on whether your pool lift is being anchored into concrete or a wood deck.
Generally speaking, you can expect to pay $500-$1,000 for a pool lift anchor system, unless your pool lift is portable. If your pool lift is portable, you’ll need to purchase sand to fill the counterbalance tank instead of an anchoring system.
The Cost of Labor
You can expect to pay about $1,500 in combined installation labor cost of your pool lift and anchor. If you are purchasing a portable lift, you can expect that charge to be less, as the assembly takes less time.
